Hongdae by Day

Sunday afternoon I was feeling the need to get out of the Suj, so me and Nik went to Hongdae. Usually we only go here at night, and this was the first time we had seen it in the day. It was very funky and cool! A nice surprise.

Lookin a little like Japan!

There are so many ways you could change this to make it so much funnier......So many men, so "insert funny remark"

It's all about the love here in Korea

The streets

Refreshments

That's all I'm looking for! Just a little bit of world spice!!!!

Burger place

A funky looking lounge deal.

Cool walls that look like art

Wall art....I don't think it's dead! (see below)

The streets of Hongdae...in the day.

An interesting poster in a book shop

On the wall of Starbucks

A cool looking Japanese pub.

OASIS! Yup, they're coming to Seoul and we are going!!! Birthday present from Nikki! Thank you!!

A kick ass Kareoke bar! Yes, thats what I said, a Kareoke bar!! They take it very seriously here in Korea. Unbelievable!

A very cool building we just saw for the first time.....funny...and we've been to Hongdae soo many times?! Could we have missed that when we were drunk? Or is it new?

The new food stand that is outside our building at school. There are tons of these all over and all the kids eat at them between classes. I have no idea what is up with the manic looking pig.

Saturday Night at the Movies

Saturday night I went to the movies with Sara. We went to see "Yes Man". It was in english with Korean subtitles, so most of the time we were laughing before the Koreans. And the times when we laughed the hardest was when the jokes clearly could not be translated into Korean. It would be silent and we would be laughing SOO hard, and because it was so quiet, it made us laugh even harder. I quite enjoyed this movie. Something to think about sometimes. Just say.....YES!

Waiting for the bus.

Here it is! Number 11, takes us right to Shinsegae.

Chillin in the bus

My eyes looked like they were gonna pop out of my head in the pic that Sara took of me, so I decided not to post it! The perks of having your own blog!

These guys wave in the cars to the parking lot. The woman that gives you your ticket bows to every car and person that walks by. Its kinda funny to watch sometimes.

Almost there!

Shinsegae shopping center, where the CGV=movie theater is on the 8th floor.

At the ticket stand....take a number!

Sara is obsessed with cute little toys that come from vending machines. Here she is getting her latest additions.

Basement level 1, theres a market and loads of good places to eat. A little snack before popcorn!

This is the dumpling stand. There is always a huge line for this place.

Stuffed squid anyone???? Ahh, no thank you.

Sushi bar!

Of course you can get beer at the movies!

Time for popcorn and a movie!
