Lo siento!!

Ok, I´m sooooo sorry for not emailing and updating the blog. Took a little bit of a break from the computer! But I am still alive and kickin. No worries there. Where to begin?????

New Years Eve!....back in Mendoza, Damajuana Hostel had a party, big dinner(poolside!) including all drinks, and a dj. Some of the guys staying at the hostel bought a bunch of fireworks and let them all off at the stroke of midnight. Was very cool and felt like a real new years celebration! The dj came on and we danced the night away. Slept for a few hours and was back up at 8am for breakfast and free drinks in the bar connected to the hostel(the owner was pretty smashed=pretty generous). Back to sleep for a couple more hours, then poolside where me, Mik and our Aussie friend Jacob managed to score some beer and laugh our way through the morning and early afternoon. Finally went to bed around 2pm. A fantastic new years. So many funny things happened that night/day. Good memories for sure!

Spent a couple more days in Mendoza, hangin with the crew of people we met there. Chilled by the pool, bbqs at night, and of course some last minute shopping for Mik. We were so happy we went back to Mendoza.

Jan. 4th we went back to Santiago. Had a quiet last night and were up early to wait for Tracy. So happy to see her arrive safely, but didnt let her rest. Showered up we tackled Santiago, and chilled at the hostel till it was time for Mik to go. So sad! Again a feeling of "Ok, what now????" Luckily we were distracted by a couple from Oz who were just as crazy as us. Spent the next few days in Santiago in party mode. Also went to the Love Parade, a HUGE electronic party in the streets. Thousands of people, lots of music. Good times. A little crazy for us, and we all opted for a beer and pizza party in the hostel. Turned into a big party and a night out of dancing. Good times, once again.

Had to finally leave our Aussie friends, and Monday we came to La Serena(where we are now). Nice beach town, and a quiet hostel. Tracy managed to get a cold in this heat, and have spent the last couple of days recovering. Our first day here was spent catching up on sleep, and then wandering the many markets. The next day we spent at the beach and soaked up the rays. Very nice and relaxing. Yesterday we were touristy and went on a tour of the valley. A full day of sights. Drive through the valley, visit the dam, try the fruit of the cactus(very sour but very good!), delicious lunch, visit a pisco distillery(Chilian alcohol), stop by the river, and finally a quick visit to learn about papayas. A good day.

Today we are trying to catch up on emailing and tonight we might visit one of the 3 observatories to see the stars up close and personal. Tomorrow night we head to San Pedro in the far north of Chile. Spend a few days there and then cross over to Argentina to check out Salta. Then north again to Bolivia! Finally. Can´t wait to get there. Should be quite the adventure for sure.

So all is well in this end of the world. Still lovin it here. And very happy to have Tracer here with me! She is crazy and outgoing, and good to have around. Just like old times!

Hope you are all well. Thank you for the love you send in emails! I appreciate them all!!
Cheers
More soon!
