The Tarot

So if any of you can remember waaaay back, while I was in Argentina I had my tarot read by some funky lady in an artisan market. She said a few things that seem to be coming true. One was that I would get into an arguement with my brother. This seemed very strange, as my brother and I have never fought. Ever. But we did come as close to an arguement as I think we ever will, not long after I got home. She also said, several times, that there was money in my future. Just imagine how happy I was to hear that!!! Well, in a way that is coming true as well. I have been working nearly everyday at school and am back at Cow Bay Cafe starting this weekend. Changes in the pay scale for teachers here will hopefully mean I will be making more money, the more I work. So I am very happy about all of that. My debt is looming over me and I can't wait to slap a big chunk of change on the ol visa. HA! I'll show you pay back!!!

Life has also included working outside to get things ready for summer time. Winter is very slowly loosening its grip on Rupert. Still on the weight watchers wagon(WWW) and have been relatively successful at that so far. Pat on the back for me! Got to see my niece recieve the sportsmanship award of the year for her skating club. Very proud of her, as it was the last and most important award of the night. I shall quote her..."It's not important if you win, just as long as you have fun." Well said! So smart and she is only 9 years old. We can learn so much from the little people around us. Have also enjoyed being around my nephews again too. They are growing so fast and can speak much more than before. They are so different, and a joy to get to know.

There never seems to be enough time in the day, but I have managed to enjoy the company of my friends over dinner, drinks, coffee at Cowpaccinos, etc. Since coming home I am without cable or tv of any sort. It is a whole new world and I love it. I am definately one of those people that can get sucked into the television for hours. Without it, I am free! Free at last! I have found I get so much done, and am so much more productive. Of course being away travelling and never watching tv helped make it much easier to come home to. Feel like I am a slightly better human being now that I can say "Sorry I dont watch tv."

Mucho appreciation for the suggestions, and web links sent to me about overseas work. Have done a bit of research, and there is so much out there. Very daunting. A small part of me is also considering going back to school, but I haven't really thought too much about it. We shall see what happens in the next few months. Keep your ideas coming!

So that is all for now. Thinking of all you spread around the world. Continue your adventures. It's all about having fun!!
Cheers

Where to Next You Ask????

So I have finally moved back into my old place and made a few improvements this week. I painted my bathroom and living room, gave my old couch away, and got new/used couches! Much nicer I must add(thanks for the couches mom and dad!) Still have a few things to do to organize myself, but I am so happy to have my own little space again. My place is small, but perfect for me and I love it.

Last couple of weeks have been busy with work. Back at school and at Sollys on Fridays. May shall be even busier once I start back at Cow Bay Cafe too. Last weekend was my Dad's birthday. He looks better now than he did 10 years ago! Way to go Dad! This weekend was busy with a baby shower and Easter festivities. Shower on Saturday night, and out on the town to see all the people visitig for Easter break. Then Sunday was a neighbourhood brunch, with a huge brekky, an egg hunt for the kids, and sitting in the sunshine sippin mimosas. Tis the life. Then that night over to my Mom and Dad's for turkey dinner. Haven't had one of those in about a year, so I love it!

Today I went on a local hiking trail called Butze Rapids, with Martina and Riley. Was a little cold but a great walk. Tonight is supposed to be cold and stormy, so will spend it curled up on the couch with some hot tea, enjoying my pad. Have definatly settled back into life here. All is good.

But the question is....where to next?? I am planning on working abroad, hopefully by February next year. So if anyone has any ideas, let me know! I'm open to anything. I shall be spending the next 6 months or so trying to figure out my next move. I'll keep you posted!

Cheers

Settling Back into "The Real World"

So its been a couple weeks since my last post. I am back in Prince Rupert and life has been BUSY. Unfortunatly, the day after returning home my grandmother had a mild heart attack. She is ok, but gave us quite a scare. Glad to see her on the road to recovery. A good reminder that we must all take care of ourselves as much as those around us. Our health is so important. Coincidentally, I have decided to join the big WW....thats right, Weight Watchers! Its time for me to get my ass in gear. I have been motivated my the huge success of my mom, dad, brother, sister in law, cousin, and aunt. They have all drastically decreased in size in my time away. So I am jumping on the band wagon so to speak.

Other than that, I am still living with my parents for the time being. My brother is busy renovating their house, so my place is a little bit of a disaster. I will hopefully be back in there by the beginning of next week. I am soo excited at the prospect of unpacking my back pack and having my own space again. Yahoo! I am also back to work. I have worked the past 5 days straight at school, which is fantastic. There is apparently lots of work available. Good for me. I am also back working at Solly's, Friday nights. We shall see where that goes. And I will be back at Cow Bay Cafe in May. Let the good times roll and the credit bills get paid! But will still need to find a day job for the summer once school is out. Ho hum.

Been so busy sorting myself out, and spending time with my family I haven't seen too much of my friends yet. But I did manage to make it out on Saturday night, for dinner, drinks, and some booty shakin at the Surf. Not too much has changed! But a fun night was had by all.

Plans for the coming summer are....to work my ass off and pay off my debt, hang out with friends and family, go to my parents cabin on the sea for some r&r and find my next destination working overseas. The adventure continues!!

Cheers all!
